The London Borough of Havering is located Northeast of London City Airport a distance of around 12 miles a journey that would take around 35 minutes by taxi via the A1020 and A124. It is situated in Northeast London and forms part of outer London it has a population of 237,900 according to 2011 statistics.
Havering is also known as Havering-atte-Bower and is situated on the quieter side of London, sandwiched between Essex and the centre of the City. There are plenty of attractions and sites to enjoy such as Havering Museum, Rainham Hall-a beautiful national trust property, the Millenium Centre, Upminster Windmill and a choice of history manor houses left as a legacy by the wealthy aristocrats that once inhabited the area.
There is easy access to the countryside due to half of the borough being situated in the Green Belt and some of the best county parks and nature reserves include Weald Country Park, Havering Country Park and the Chase Nature Reserve. The park of Hornchurch and the Rainham Marshes RSPB nature reserve are the best places to go for birdwatching with an incredible bird sactuary and some memorable scenery of the Thames.
